French language education in
Nunavut

The French-Language School Board of Nunavut has one school with more than 100 students from kindergarten to grade 12. No other school board in this territory offers full-time French-language teaching. French-language teaching is offered in Nunavut’s capital, Iqualuit. Services offered by the French-language school board include:
- Daycare services during and after school hours
- Tutoring for students with special needs, French as a second-language remedial tutoring and an after-school homework program
- Laptops for every student
- SMART Boards (interactive whiteboards connected to a computer)
- A back- to-school summer camp
- A modern school built to sustain extreme cold weather and able to maximize natural lighting
- The northernmost francophone school in the world
There are no services in French in Nunavut related to postsecondary education, literacy and adult continuing education.
