The Evangeline region is known for its high concentration of Francophones and for the Festival acadien.

The Commission scolaire de langue française de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard (CS LF) has 6 schools attended by 1,259 students from kindergarten to grade 12. The CSLF is the only school board in Prince Edward Island to offer the French as a first language program. Services offered by the French-language school board include:

  • Promoting Acadian heritage
  • Mentoring clubs
  • Orthopedagogy services, counselling and special needs education
  • Educational assistant services for students with special needs.
