French language education in
Manitoba

The Franco-Manitoban School Division has 24 schools and 6,059 students from kindergarten to grade 12 as well as an adult learning centre. No other school board in this province offers full-time French-language education. French-language teaching is available in 23 municipalities throughout the province. Services offered by the Franco-Manitoban School Division include:

  • Early childhood services provided in partnership with the community at most of its schools
  • An exchange program oriented towards culture and sports
  • A leadership program for teenagers
  • Free school bus transportation

French services in Manitoba related to postsecondary education, literacy and adult continuing education are provided by the Franco-Manitoban Learning Centre, Pluri-elles, a non-profit organization based in Winnipeg, and the Université de Saint-Boniface, based as well in Winnipeg.
